Clickety Clack - Day 6

And the day wore on! No respite in sight, Shaoli decided to get set shopping.

Walking through the lanes, window shopping and sometimes bargaining just for the heck of it, Shaoli slowly let herself unwind. No matter how much she denied it, having the annoying S2 for company did actually make what she usually considered a chore appeal much more.

"Tch..that kind of thinking could get you into a lot of trouble" She reminded herself.

Eyeing a skirt that she secretly wished she could work up the guts to wear, she found herself thinking about Vyas and their friendship again.

Now that S2 had mentioned it, she admitted to herself, maybe she did feel more than just platonic towards him. The unveiling of something this momentous upset her so much that she picked up the skirt anyway.

"Hmmn..good choice. Now let's find a top and some accesories"  

" Huh? Oh ok..yeah let's do that"

"Are you alright? Are you actually agreeing with me out of your own free will?" Shaoli could almost imagine S2 raising a single perfectly shaped eyebrow in disbelief.

"Now that you put it like that..."

"Fine. I will not look a gift horse in the mouth. Let's go"

Shaoli had figured having a pair of earphones plugged in would make her seemingly talking to herself look less insane.While people did seem to wonder at the insane bits of conversation they caught, at least it didn't look like she was talking to herself anymore. This had also helped in easing how she interacted with S2. 

As she learnt to treat having a version of herself in her earrings as normal, she was able to appreciate what a unique opportunity she had been given. She not only got to show S2 the world, she realised, it also broadened and changed her perspective on so many things including herself.

Finally having spent more in one day of shopping trip than she had in an entire month ever, Shaoli decided her stomach needed some attention too. 

"Hey I'm kind of hungry now. What do you feel like eating?"

"Wow! I didn't expect you to be this rude. I thought we were getting somewhere"

"What? What did I say wrong? Don't you need to eat?"

" I would like to. But no, I don't need to. I haven't needed to yet"

"Ok. Is there anything particular you would like me to eat? "

"That's so considerate of you to ask. Yes please, I would looooove to see what one of those burgers look like up close!"

"Well, looks like you just read my mind. Lemme sharem y favourite burger with you. Feast your eyes baby!"

Shaoli walked into her favourite joint and ordered the most mouth watering lamb burgers she had ever eaten. These were so good, she had woken up nights craving for their deliciousness. All set, she took her first bite and S2 gasped. 

"Oooh...that looks so yummy. I wish I wasn't encased in these earrings. Damn!"

"Haha...feast your eyes all you want lady! But this bad boy is allll mine"

Shaoli took another bite and then reached behind her ear to push a lock of hair away.

The world went hazy and she heard static. Alarmed she looked up to find that while her surroundings were still familiar she felt somehow removed from it all. Trying to make sense, she pinched herself.

"Ouch" That still felt quite real.

"Mmmmmmm...these burgers really are yummm. Good choice Shaoli"

And the yellow tinge the world had taken on suddenly made sense.
