Clickety Clack - Day 7

Yes. I know this isn't technically day 7, I missed out 2 days there. I had my reasons though, Let's call them artist's privilege shall we? So here I am, finally with access to my computer after a 2 miserable days and the heat is unrelenting in its pursuit of my misery. I don't think even peeling off every layer I could would help. Aaaarggh.

And the yellow tinge the world had taken on suddenly made sense.

Shaoli tried gasping for breath and realised she really didn't need to breathe as such. She tried clawing through the glass to no avail. She tried screaming for help with zero results.
She finally calmed down and waited for S2 to finish her (her) burger.

"Calm down. I couldn't stay like that forever. There's so much to do, touch, feel, taste, explore. Living vicariously through you was getting quite boring. Besides, its not like you lead a very interesting life anyway"

The horrifying realisation that this wasn't as unexpected for S2 as for her was enough to knock any fight she had left out of her. Trapped in a situation she couldn't understand the slightest, she decided acquiescence would be her best bet for now.

"uhm..well...uhm..what is it like for you?"

"Thank you for staying calm. It's amazing. I bet you've never thought twice about how your skin feels, how you can feel the air around you."

S2 (Or Shalini) as she liked to think of herself now marvelled at how easy this taking human shape had been. Such sentimental fools these humans were. Show a little weakness and they got all sappy and considerate. Phaw!

She hadn't really been entirely untruthful. She was really a product of Shaoli's thoughts and feelings. What she had omitted was the fact that transient beings like her existed all around. Particles of energy waiting to get enough sustenance to transform themselves into more substantial beings. How long she had waited for this moment. How she had fought her kind. She would show them the frontiers she had conquered and how.

Shaoli's phone rang again.

"Hi Vyas, what you upto?" Shaoli cringed as she heard S2 purr in a completely unfamiliar tone into the phone.

"Oh yes. I've had a very busy day indeed! Want to catch up over beer later tonight?"

"Purrrfect" S2 almost whispered sultrily

"It's time to up your game Shaoli. It's time to rock and roll" Shalini paid for the burger, picked up Shaoli's shopping and sauntered into the evening rush.
